13:07Z EF2 KBMX AL Sumter Persimmon Grove A tornado touched down in Whitfield and moved to the northeast. Along its path, approximately 150 softwood trees were snapped, 50 hardwood trees were uprooted, and five outbuildings were damaged. Six homes and one double wide mobile home were also damaged. One home along County Road 42 was destroyed causing 1 injury.
13:32Z EF0 KBMX AL Marengo Shortleaf A tornado briefly touched down in Demopolis along Maria Ave and moved northeast crossing Jefferson Road. Approximately 20 homes in the Edgewood Subdivision sustained minor roof damage. Several business signs along US Highway 80 were blown down and the Central Farmers COOP sustained significant structural damage as a portion of its roof was removed. The tornado lifted along US Highway 80, east of US Highway 43.
15:00Z EF0 KMOB AL Clarke Tallahatta Spgs A weak EF-0 tornado developed from a thunderstorm and briefly touched down in a wooded area. There was a one-quarter mile swath of 6 inch diameter young pine tree trucks snapped off about 5 feet above the ground.
17:08Z EF1 KBMX AL Montgomery Chisholm A tornado touched down near the Alabama Christian Academy Football field in Montgomery, where a large pine tree snapped and collapsed a section of bleachers. The scorebored on the nearby Faulkner University baseball field also collapsed. The tornado continued northeastward crossing Wares Ferry Road, where several homes sustained minor roof damage. Farther to the northeast, the most widespread damage occurred at the Sunshine Valley Mobile Home Park, were numerous mobile homes sustained minor to moderate roof damage or the underpinning was blown out. Small outbuildings and sheds were also blown over in this area, and trees were snapped or uprooted. One large pine tree was uprooted and crushed a vehicle. From there the tornado crossed US Highway 231 and struck Adam's Motorsports, were a section of metal roof was peeled back. The tornado lifted just northeast of Adam's Motorsports.
17:52Z EF1 KBMX AL Macon Notasulga A tornado touched down in northeast Macon County south of Notasulga, east of County Road 81, along County Road 59. The tornado moved to the northeast, causing extensive tree damage. Approximately a dozen mobile homes sustained damage along County Road 54, before the tornado crossed into Lee County, south of Hunter Road.
17:57Z EF1 KBMX AL Lee Loachapoka A tornado initially touched down in Macon County Alabama and crossed into Lee County approximately 1 mile southwest of Lee Road 3. It continued its northeastward path causing extensive tree damage across western Lee County. Dozens of houses and mobile homes on the western side of Auburn were heavily damaged due to falling trees. Several residences were destroyed. One female and one child were injured when trees fell on a mobile home. Significant damage was also noted in the Terrace Acres neighborhood, where homes were heavily damaged from falling trees. The tornado crossed the southern edge of Auburn University's campus and caused damage to the baseball facilities at Auburn High School and nearby homes. The tornado crossed interstate 85 at US highway 280 and continued moving to the northeast toward Lake Harding. Along the lake, extensive tree damage and damage to numerous homes and boathouses occurred. Several residences were destroyed or sustained complete roof loss. The tornado continued into Harris County Georgia (See November Storm Data from WFO Peachtree City).
18:35Z EF2 KFFC GA Harris Bartletts Ferry Lake A damage survey conducted by the National Weather Service Forecast Office in Peachtree City, Georgia confirmed that an EF2 tornado caused extensive damage across Harris county. The tornado first touched down as an EF1 in Macon county, Alabama before moving east into Lee county, Alabama and then into Harris county, Georgia. The tornado had already caused considerable damage to the town of Auburn, Alabama as an EF1 before it continued into Harris county, Georgia. As the tornado approached the county seat of Hamilton, it strengthened to an EF2. The tornado entered Harris county from Alabama at the north end of Lake Harding and tracked across the central part of the county, then moved into extreme northwest Talbot county before lifting, approximately two miles east-northeast of the town of Shiloh on the Harris/Talbot county line. The tornado had already carved out a path over 33 miles in length across eastern Alabama before it moved into Georgia. Within Harris county, the tornado path length was approximately 26 miles. The maximum path width was determined to be 1/2 mile with maximum winds of 125 mph. The tornado caused considerable damage across Harris county, especially around the county seat of Hamilton. Two homes were completely destroyed, with 68 other structures suffering minor to moderate damage, including 22 county buildings. County buildings damaged included the Harris County School Complex, the Harris County 911 Center, the Harris County Animal Shelter, and the agricultural center. One of the structures heavily damaged was a mobile home, where a man and his wife sustained minor injuries. 19:08Z EF1 KFFC GA Talbot Tax A damage survey conducted by the National Weather Service Forecast Office in Peachtree City, Georgia confirmed that the EF1 to EF2 tornado, that first touched down in Macon county Alabama and tracked across all of Harris county, continued into extreme northwest Talbot county before lifting. The tornado tracked on the ground over 33 miles within Alabama, 26 miles within Harris county, and approximately two miles within Talbot county for a total path length of nearly 61 miles. The tornado decreased to an EF1 before it entered Talbot county and the path width decreased to less than 1/2 mile. Damage within Talbot county was confined to several downed trees and power lines in the far northwest part of the county along Old Shiloh Road.||[11/16/11: Tornado #1, County #2-2, EF2, Harris-Talbot, 2011:026].
21:25Z EF0 KGSP NC Cleveland Stubbs A small area of weak tornado damage occurred on the northeast side of Shelby, near the Airport Rd and highway 180 intersection. Damage was mainly limited to uprooted hardwoods and snapped pine trees. However, some minor structural damage was observed to several homes in the area.
21:53Z EF0 KCAE GA Richmond Hephzibah WRDW reported a tornado touchdown near Hephzibah taking down trees in rural areas east of Hephzibah. Photo attached.
22:06Z EF0 KGSP SC Union Carem An area of weak tornado damage was surveyed near the intersection of Neal Shoals Rd and Fairview Church Circle. Part of the roof was blown off a barn and shingles were removed from a house. Numerous trees were uprooted or snapped in the area as well.
22:30Z EF1 KCAE SC Chester Dinber This tornado initially touched down in a rural area of extreme northern Chester County, near the Lowrys community, just west of Darby Rd. The open farmland in this area made it difficult to follow the track, but several trees were blown down and part of the roof was removed from a home. The tornado traveled northeast, across Darby Rd before crossing into York County.
22:32Z EF2 KCAE SC York Mc Connells The tornado that touched down near Lowrys in extreme northern Chester County moved into York County southeast of McConnells, just east of Darby Rd. The damage path was non-continuous for the first three miles of its track across York County, although open farmland made it difficult to determine if the tornado was in constant contact with the ground in this area. Damage was generally confined to scattered downed trees. Damage intensified as the tornado approached the Williamson Rd area, near its intersection with Erby Rd, where tree damage became more concentrated. The tornado became very strong and increased in size as it approached and crossed highway 324 in the Ogden Community, near its intersection with Skyline Rd and Williamson Rd. Around a dozen homes were damaged in this area, with one double-wide mobile home being rolled about 75 yards. Two occupants of this home were killed. Another man was killed when the roof of his home was blown off, causing a chimney to collapse on him. Five other people were injured in the Ogden area. A number of sheds and outbuildings were damaged or destroyed and several automobiles were also flipped. The tornado lifted east of Skyline Rd, just short of Vernsdale Rd. The tornado was the strongest to hit York County in almost 40 years, and was the county's first known killer tornado since 1926. The thunderstorm that spawned the tornado was a mini-supercell that traveled over 110 miles before dissipating shortly after the second tornado lifted.
22:34Z EF1 KCLX GA Burke Shell Bluff NWS storm survey found a strong EF1 tornado touched down in the woods taking down numerous trees, damaging a couple of homes, a garage, a couple of outbuildings, and turned over an RV.
22:53Z EF0 KCLX SC Aiken Ellenton NWS Storm Survey Team and SRS Emergency Management confirmed an EF0 tracked through the Savannah River Site taking down trees and overturning a few outbuildings. Damage was mainly in the woods and along a couple of roads.
23:05Z EF2 KFCX NC Davidson Silver Hill A tornado with a nearly continuous damage path of approximately 12.5 miles was found about 5 miles east of Linwood in Davidson County to about 10 miles northwest of Asheboro in Randolph County. Damage along the path was found to be EF-1 to EF-2 on the Enhanced Fujita tornado rating scale, with wind speeds between 90 and 135 mph. ||At approximately 6:05 pm EST, the initial tornado touchdown was in the form of snapped and uprooted trees along NC Highway 47, near the Parks Road Intersection. The first occurrence of structural damage was to single family homes in the nearby Silver Ridge Subdivision, off of Allred Road. Roofs were lifted off multiple homes and mostly exterior walls were blown out. This damage was consistent with EF-2 tornado intensity. The roof of one of the homes had been carried about 150 yards into the yard of another home. An outbuilding, whose contents were swept about 50 feet into the side yard adjacent to the home was also completely destroyed. Trees were toppled mostly in toward the center of the track of the tornado. Only minor injuries were noted to residents.| |The tornado continued east northeastward to Old Burkhart Road where it blew a trailer a couple of hundred feet downwind, downed power lines, and toppled a tree through a residence. The tornado then tracked through a small community on Meadow Run Lane. Two homes slide off their foundations, including the home where two fatalities occurred when the home slid down the edge of a steep|embankment. An automobile was also blown into an adjacent stand of trees at the top of the embankment. Damage here is consistent with EF-2 tornado intensity.||The tornado traveled east northeastward and caused structural damage mainly in the form of roof damage, to several businesses, including the roofing of a Lowes distribution center, Skippers Seafood Restaurant and a Giddy-Kwik service station. Additionally, a nearby former marine dealer sustained extensive damage when the exterior walls and roof of this building was blown into the adjacent parking lot. ||The next structural damage occurred at the Laurel Drive AAA Mobile Home Park. The most significant damage here was a tree toppled through the rear of one of the homes. Another home shifted from the foundation. Tree damage in this area appeared to be more minor than surrounding areas, and damage throughout the mobile home park was consistent with EF-1 intensity. ||In total, 60 homes were damaged. Of the 60 homes damaged, 25 homes were destroyed, and at least 5 businesses were destroyed.
23:23Z EF1 KFCX NC Randolph Fullers The tornado then crossed into western Randolph County at approximately 6:23 pm EST. Numerous homes in the Welborne Ridge Court subdivision were damaged. Damage here was mostly to roofs and siding. A travel trailer inside the mobile home park was flipped over and a nearby pickup truck was blown between 50 and 75 feet. A wooden outbuilding was also destroyed. Damage within the subdivision was consistent with EF-1 tornado intensity.||The last observed tornado damage and end point of the tornado track was to a barn on Finch Farm Road. Damage to the barn was consistent with that of the nearby Welborne Ridge Court Subdivision.||In total, more than a dozen structures were damaged in Randolph County.
23:55Z EF1 KFCX VA Pittsylvania Whiteoak The tornado, rated an EF1, tracked east-northeast touching down intermittently from White Oak Mountain Road to the intersection of U.S. Highway 29 and Toy Lane. Numerous trees were snapped or uprooted along the path. Winds estimated near 100 mph ripped three large ventilator systems off the roof of Unique Industries and two tractor trailers were overturned. Several trees were blown down and some water tanks tossed about on Carter Lodge Road. Minor roof damage to a house was reported just across U.S. Highway 29 after which time the tornado lifted or dissipated.
01:40Z EF1 KJAX GA Ware (ays)ware Co Arpt Wa EF1 tornado damage was observed at 5000 Hunt Trail. A roof was taken off of a gazebo and a porch and carports were damaged. At peak intensity of near 100 mph, the tornado lifted a shed 25 yards and moved a mobile home 1 foot off of its foundation. The cost of damage was estimated.
04:14Z EF0 KAKQ NC Hertford Murfreesboro A weak EF0 tornado with wind speeds of around 78 mph tracked east across northern Hertford county northeast of the town of Severn. The tornado touched down in an open field primarily snapping and uprooting trees. An area of unharvested soybeans were flattened by the tornado allowing for a path width estimate of around 50 yards. The tornado crossed Boones Bridge Road snapping several large pine trees which blocked the road. Two parked tractor trailers nearby were also overturned.
