22:08Z 55 IA Des Moines Mediapolis Wind gusts measured to be 63 mph were observed in Mediapolis, IA at 508 pm CDT June 23. South of town winds were even stronger, unroofing a barn and throwing the roof through a nearby garage. A grain bin just southeast of town was damaged.
22:10Z 61 IL Henry Geneseo Wind gusts estimated to be 60 to 70 mph blew down large trees and limbs in and around Atkinson at between 505 and 510 pm CDT June 23. One resident noted that the time was 508 pm (CDT) when his 40-foot tree landed on the roof of his house in Atkinson. The former elementary school roof sustained extensive damage; the baseball dugouts were blown down; a barn and a large agricultural building were unroofed; the roof of the gymnasium was also damaged. Most residents were without power for about 24 hours.

22:50Z 61 IL Putnam Granville Wind gusts estimated to be 70 mph blew down power poles and large trees on the south side of Spring Valley beginning around 550 pm CDT June 23. Areas most affected included Highway 89 on the south side of town, Oakdale Avenue, Marquette Road, and Ladd Road. The local newspaper included reports and pictures of many trees that fell onto cars, houses, and decks causing structural damage. The bleachers at the Hall High School track were also overturned and crumpled by the wind.

An intense microburst with a path of 2 to 3 miles and estimated 100 mph winds was surveyed from Pine Lake northeast through Rolling Prairie. The most concentrated damage occurred at the start of the event, where enumerable trees were uprooted and snapped with roof damage to numerous homes. A lack of overall structure damage, outside of falling trees, suggested that the high winds remained at tree top level, roughly 30 to 50 feet. No specific damage value was available, but given the magnitude of the damage, an estimate of $750,000 will be assigned to the event.
