Additionally, a heavy trailer was moved 5 feet to the southeast and flag poles were facing northeast. This suggests a divergent flow pattern which is typical of a microburst with storm motion to the east-northeast.

18:25Z 74 OH Washington Little Hocking A concentrated area of tree damage was along Newbury Road near the Little Hocking Cemetery. There were numerous hardwood trees with large branches snapped off. There were also some uprooted hardwoods snapped in half. Further toward the Ohio River, several softwood trees were snapped and topped. This concentrated area of damage was about a half mile wide. Maximum wind gusts were estimated around 85 mph. ||This same storm crossed the Ohio River and did considerable tree damage in the Washington Bottom area of Wood County in West Virginia. ||A few other fallen trees were also noted heading north toward Hocking Road and along Holdren Road.

18:27Z 83 WV Wood Meldahls Straight line winds caused trees to fall onto power lines and houses. The Washington Bottom area was hit hard. A teenage girl was hit by a fallen tree branch in the City Park for Parkersburg. She had minor injuries. It was observed that most of the old large trees that fell in the park had extensive rot within their trunks. ||Around a dozen homes had some degree of damage, mostly to their roofs. Power outages were widespread. Some residents were without electricity for 4 days. At least one vehicle in the Washington Bottom vicinity was smashed by a fallen tree. ||Embedded microbursts occurred in the Washington Bottom area. The straight line wind damage continued with scattered wind damage into the city of Parkersburg.||One concentrated microburst was mostly confined to a wooded residential lot across from the Washington United Methodist Church on DuPont Road. Many large tree trunks and large tree limbs were snapped. It is in this vicinity that a maximum wind gust around 95 mph was estimated. Another concentrated area of tree damage was around the intersection of Riverview Drive and DuPont Road. Trees tops were snapped off. There were 2 wooden phone poles that were snapped off close to the ground. However, some wood rot was observed within those poles. Winds of 70 to 75 mph were estimated around the City Park in Parkersburg. Several of the large trees within the park had extensive wood rot. Six residents stayed at a Red Cross shelter set up in the South Parkersburg Baptist Church.||Prior to crossing the Ohio River, this same storm caused tree damage in the Little Hocking vicinity of Ohio.

18:59Z 72 PA Mercer Jackson Center A NWS Storm Survey found damage from a micro-burst along a 1.4 mile long path along U.S. Highway 62 in Jackson Center. The maximum winds were estimated between 80 and 85 MPH, and the width of the damage path was around 50 yards. Damage consisted of numerous soft and hardwood trees snapped or uprooted, with roof damage to several family homes and garages.

00:10Z 70 AZ La Paz Quartzsite A line of intense thunderstorms developed across central La Paz county during the middle of the afternoon on July 8th and they moved slowly towards the west, affecting the community of Quartzsite. The storms produced damaging microburst winds, estimated to be in excess of 70 mph. The storms prompted the issuance of s Severe Thunderstorm Warning for the Quartzsite area, which was in effect from 1605MST until 1745MST. According to the Quartzsite Fire and Rescue, the storms heavily damaged a number of RV properties in La Paz Valley as well as areas approximately 6 miles to the south of Quartzsite. A number of thunderstorm damage photos were posted to the Quartzsite Fire Twitter feed during the late afternoon hours.

The strong storms produced damaging microburst outflow winds estimated to be in excess of 80 mph. According to local law enforcement, 4 mobile homes were overturned in Parker. In addition, the gusty winds blew down power poles and caused roof damage to local residences. Fortunately, no injuries were reported.

01:25Z 61 AZ Cochise Arizona Sunsites A severe storm with multiple microbursts moved through the Kansas Settlement area, just south of Willcox in Cochise County. One home on E. Sulphur Springs Rd was severely damaged, and the family displaced. Pieces of a tin roof were blown off with insulation littering the ground outside the house. Rain then continued and damaged many items inside the home. Neighbors claimed to have found pieces of the roof up to two miles away on Birch Road. Several small trees and tree branches were blown down as well. There were reports to the sheriff's office of some downed power poles in the area as well.

02:45Z 67 AZ Pinal Toltec Strong thunderstorms developed to the south of Casa Grande during the evening hours on July 8th, and they produced powerful outflow winds which spread to the north across northwest Pinal county, affecting the communities of Arizona City and Toltec. In addition to producing near zero visibility in dense blowing dust, the gusty winds also proved to be damaging. According to a viewer report forwarded to the NWS by April Warnecke (Channel 3 TV), wind gusts estimated up to 77 mph blew down wooden power poles over a mile long stretch of Milligan Avenue on the south side of Arizona City. Additionally, gusty winds from the same thunderstorms blew through the community of Toltec, causing significant damage to the Pinal county Attorneys office. The gusty winds, estimated to be in excess of 60 mph, twisted and destroyed a large amount of aluminum air conditioning ducting located on the building's roof. A Severe Thunderstorm Warning was not issued, instead a Significant Weather Advisory was issued at 1944MST, calling for gusty outflow winds to reach 45 mph.

The winds, estimated to be in excess of 40 mph, generated dust storm conditions across the central deserts, mainly southeast of the greater Phoenix area. They were also strong enough to cause tree damage. According to a broadcast media report, at 2330MST in Sun Lakes, gusty winds uprooted a 35 foot tree which then fell on a house. Additionally, the winds caused damage to a several roofs in Sun Lakes.
