18:43Z 78 GA Gwinnett Lilburn A National Weather Service survey determined that a strong downburst with maximum winds up to 90 mph swept across central and south Gwinnett County from the Lilburn area to Snellville. Damage was found along a path approximately 6 miles long and 2 miles wide. Hundreds of trees and numerous power lines and power poles were blown down along this path. In total, 38 homes were damaged, including 12 with major damage and 2 that were destroyed. Most of the damage to structures, and much of the damage to power lines, was due to falling trees. Several vehicles were also damaged by falling trees. The worst damage was concentrated in the Killian Hill Manor subdivision along Hale Drive SW and along Cedar Wood Drive SW at the onset of the downburst. No injuries were reported.

The tree struck one car causing significant damage to the vehicle. No injuries were reported in either incident.

22:43Z 78 TX Crosby Ralls A rapidly intensifying thunderstorm produced an intense downburst that struck the west half of the city of Ralls before continuing south for about one mile south of Ralls. In addition to disrupting power to 2400 people in the area for much of the night and inflicting various degrees of damage to many homes and buildings, three large cotton compress buildings on the west side of town were completely destroyed with debris strewn up to 1/4 mile south of Highway 82. The extent of debris required the closure of the 4-lane highway for nearly one hour until debris could be cleared for passage. A nearby power sub-station belonging to Excel was heavily damaged and a total of 42 power poles were downed. Radar and debris patterns observed from the NWS storm survey revealed a classic downburst signature with destructive wind gusts determined to be as high as 90 mph, with sustained speeds likely ranging between 50 and 70 mph for roughly two minutes.

23:30Z 43 IN Monroe Payne WTHR-13 reported that Indiana Conservation officers found the body of 26-year-old man around 7:30pm Sunday the 3rd while searching Monroe Lake with side scan sonar equipment. He was in about 15 feet of water near the area where he had been swimming from his boat.||An Indiana Department of Natural Resources spokesperson said the man was swimming off a pontoon he rented with three friends when he disappeared Friday evening as a thunderstorm with strong winds passed overhead.||Friends say the man was a good swimmer, which might have been why he went into the water without a life jacket. When a storm suddenly kicked up out on the lake though, it was too much for him.
