A vast majority of the damage was to the east or east northeast and did not show signs of a convergent damage pattern. In addition, the width of the wind damage swath in Clarksville was over a mile in portions of the city, which does not correlate well with damage produced by a weak tornado. Many trees and large limbs were downed by the winds with some structural damage in the city due to falling trees. However, there was a lot of evidence of winds alone doing a variety of roof damage in town with many residences losing a significant amount of shingles from their roofs. There were also a few instances of glass being blown out of windows in some structures, and one or two more weakly constructed buildings did have large portions of their roof structures blown off. |
